Rib lath

Applications

applications

Rib-Lath is easy to handle due its small weight although it is very resistant due its ribs. It can be bent adopting any shape.

Additional Information:

Sheets shall be carefully cut using proper shears  without altering the ribs and therefore deforming their sections. Accurate shearing ensure a flawless alignment of plate ends, so that plates can be perfectly overlapped. If it is necessary to shear various plates at a time , the use of a conventional alitting saw is recommended along with a staff to be used as a strip.

Sheets shall always be installed with the ribs in perpendicular mode to the supporting structuture so that the inward side of ribs must face the supporting structure, whereas the outward side must face the surface to be plastered. Plaster ends shall have a stagered overlaping by 5 or 10 cm.RIbs shall be secured to the supporting structure with galvanised wire at least of 1 mm. whereas its ends shall be folded within the ribs.On wooden structures ribs shall be secured with metal clips or hooks.

Rib-Lath allows to build any types of flat, curved or arched drop ceiliings cornices and mouldings,.. in concrete, cement or wood. In the first case Rib-Lath is applied using wire hangers supporting metal bars where Rib-Lath sheets are fixed.

The supporting structure can also be prepared with special profiles and spacers. On wooden structures Rib-Lath sheets can be put directly whenever the distance between the clamps or hooks does not exceed 100 cms.For longer  distances a secundary cross support have to be used.
